2024 Chevrolet Blazer in Kipling, SK

The Chevy Blazer sits in the very crowded mid-size SUV class. Thanks to its sporty and aggressive styling, great handling and spacious interior, it has carved a niche of its own in this very competitive segment.

Last year, the Chevy Blazer went through a comprehensive update. This year, the only changes are the introduction of a new colour, Riptide Blue Metallic, and heated front seats.

Interior comfort and cargo space

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

The seats in the Blazer are comfortable for two adults or three children. The designers made good use of soft-touch plastics and a two-tone colour scheme. The more expensive trims offer leather surfaces and higher-quality materials.

The Blazer’s interior is reminiscent of the Camaro, with the climate-control system controlled by twisting the air vents. The vents are placed on the dash and are twisted to change the temperature settings.

The rear seats have a 60/40 split to make carrying cargo a breeze. With the seats in the upright position, there’s 864 litres of space, and with them folded flat, there’s an impressive 1,818 litres of cargo space.

Performance Features (Engine type, Horsepower, Torque)

The entry-level LT is offered with two engine variants: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged motor making 228 horsepower and 258 ft-lb torque, or a 3.6-litre V6 making 308 horsepower and 270 ft-lb torque. Both engine variants are coupled to nine-speed automatic transmissions. The other trims all have the V6 as a standard, without the option of using the 2.0-litre engine.

The RS has different steering and a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring on the rear wheels, making this trim fabulous for driving tight and twisty roads. It has composed road manners, accurate steering, and 21-inch tires, making driving tight roads a pleasure.

The 2.0-litre motor gives 10.8 L/100km around town and 8.7 L/100km on the highway, while the larger V6 has, for its size, good fuel consumption figures, returning 12.8 L/100 km in the city and  9.1 L/100 km on the highway.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The Blazer has received the highest five-star crash test rating from the NHTSA and the top or “Good” rating from the IIHS. These excellent safety ratings are bolstered by a wide range of drive assistance features. These include emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, a following distance indicator, a high-definition rear-view camera, a tire monitoring system, teen driver controls and a rear seat reminder. Rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring are options on the LT but standard on the other trims. Adaptive cruise control is optional.

An Exciting SUV at a Competitive Price

The 2024 Chevy Blazer is an exciting, robust driver’s SUV that anyone can enjoy. With dynamic good looks, a comfortable cabin, great performance and a high safety rating, this SUV is perfectly suited for work and weekend driving pleasure.
